  1. I opened the Preferences dialog box (Tools>Preferences) and went to the Field Names tab to check on some fields I had added some time ago. While there, I noticed something odd. There are duplicate entries for some (many) text fields. The duplicate names are in the "Property" column, not the "Value" column. For example, I found 2 rows each for these fields: User Field 10 (both of these have the exact same entries in the Value field - a value I entered) User Field 11 (one of the duplicate rows has an entry in the Value column that I entered; the other is blank) User Field 12 (one of the duplicate rows has an entry in the Value column that I entered; the other is blank) and User Fields 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 (one of the duplicate rows has an entry in the Value column that I entered; the other is blank) Even odder, there were no duplicate fields for any User Fields higher than User Field 12. I also noticed that all of the duplicate fields except 10 have one Value entry that I entered and the other is blank; see the attached picture for examples. The fields are also not sorted by number -- as you can see in the picture, User Field 2 comes after User Field 19. It looks like they're sorted like text. The sorting is not a critical matter, just an oddity. David
  2. HI After having upgraded to CoinManage 2017 I have to keep setting the default value table manually to my own table every time I start CoinManage. Since my areas of collection are not part of the CM defaults, I have my private table with values (named "MyTable2015" when I started using CoinManage. When I open the programme, the values section in "preferences" is always set to 2017. When I set it to MyTable2015 I get the proper values listed. When I open the programme the next time, the Values are set to 2017 again, and no values are displayed (because, of course, there are none). How can I set the Values to MyTable2015 permanently, so that I don't have to enter it manually every time I use CoinManage? Thanks for any advice and best regards Edgar
  3. I have many of my coins labeled by Sets, when I go to look at them in the View By, Sets feature, I can't seem to add a data field (Cat#1) to the table. I do it in the Preferences in Tools but the field isn't there when I go back to View By, Sets. Plus, I don't understand the Categories in the Columns Tab of the CoinManage setup. There is very little in the documentation regarding changing the date fields and nothing that I can find about using Sets. Is there available for this? Thanks in advance Paul-W
  4. This bug is repeatable. 1. Show the Category tab or View tab in the main screen. Do not select any Category or View. 2. Select Tools, Preferences from the menu. 3. Select the Columns tab. 4. HomeManage crashes. 5. I did not test all of the Views, but the program also crashes when some views are selected. E.g. Vehicles. So that the user can edit the columns for the current view, HomeManage tries to select the currently displayed view in the Categories (of which "Showing a Category" is one of the values) dropdown on the Columns tab of the Preferences dialog. I think there is a bug in the Preferences when it tries to determine which view is active and no Category is selected. RELATED ISSUES / SUGGESTIONS Suggestion 1: There are 8 views in the Categories: dropdown. If the user selects a view other than one of the 8 (e.g. Status, Purchases, Groups, Warranty Expiration) then the Categories: is blank. Although it is possible to edit the columns from this dialog, the scheme isn't named and so it isn't possible to edit it without opening the preferences dialog while the view is being shown on the main screen. This makes it difficult to edit several views or to compare views. For example, if I wanted to replace AssetNum with HomeManageID on all my views, I couldn't do it by just opening the Columns preferences and using the drop down to iterate through the views. My suggestion is that every view should be named and be accessible via the Categories: drop down. Suggestion 2: I suggest that "View:" (singular) might be a better name than "Categories:" for the dropdown on the Columns preferences tab.
  5. Although when you create a new item the AssetNum is set equal to the HomeManageID, it is possible for the user to change the AssetNum at which point they will not be the same. Since the asset images are numbered using HomManagID,some users will find it useful to see the HomeMangeID instead of or in addition to the AssetNum. For example, I was browsing the images in my AssetImages folder, and wanted to add some information to the asset tied to the photo named Asset123(1).jpg. I couldn't find the asset, since I was not aware that the asset with HomeManageID 123 had an AssetNum of 35. Ultimately I had to open the Access database to figure out what was going on.
  6. When I add items with images I am usually continuing to add items using images from the same folder or a folder near to the one I previously used to add items. I would like the program to remember which location was last used to add images, like when you select Load Image from the Item Picture(s) dialog. Actually, I would be satisfied if both options remembered the same "last used" folder, since for me it is the same one.
