BaconSlayer got a reaction from Paul-W in Feature Request - Filter in Add Coins
I have a feature request for CM:
Use Case: I want to add a 2001 Jefferson Nickel or another coin that has been minted for 50+ years. So I open the Add coin dialog and scroll, and scroll and scroll, tired of scrolling. Heck I will use the scroll bar with my mouse then, whoops to far, dang too far the other way. Ok, scroll, scroll - Found it! Whew.
How bout a filter bar above the grid where the user can just type in the year 2001 and BAM, there are all the 2001 coins all filtered, etc...
    Thanks,

There are several ways, I am assuming you want to take pics of your coins not use picks similar to your coins? So far, I have 90% of my collection photographed.
The first thing I got was a USB microscope, it has variable led lighting, but was grainy for pics and tended to be over exposed (glare). The software came with it and just lined up a shot then took a pic. When I go to add a photo for a coin, just copy/"paste from Clipboard" or use choose image from the "Picture of my Coin" Tab.
Next, I had a digital Canon Rebel, then bought a copy stand and some lens adapters that allows for some macro shots. With this I can use Canon Software to compose the shot, adjust settings in real time, etc.... This Canon app saves the pics to my computer HD. Then just choose the image using "Choose Image".
There are other ways like using a scanner and the "Acquire Image" button.
