Recommended Posts

=== QUESTION

. Is there a difference between the serial number and the bar code number? For example, on my PCGS sleeve I know the number after / is the cert number. What is the serial number? Just trying to fill in my fields in the program for each coin. Love the program, btw! Paul

=== ANSWER

The barcode number is usually a number invented by the user to identify an asset. It is usually represented by a barcode that is attached to the asset. You can also use it for such things as recording the UPC code for the item.

The serial number is a unique number designated by the manufacturer of the item.
