Can you do complex formulas in the UDF's?
I keep a separate MS Excel workbook to track some data & I want to try & calculate that data within SM.
Here is a sample from my workbook https://docs.google....dit?usp=sharing
I like to see what percentage of SCV I paid for items & also calculate auction starting price at 40% of SCV.
Lets say I bought 10 stamps from EBay for $10 total, (I could just say I paid $1 each, but that doesn't show me any good deals, whereas the % of SCV paid will), first I put the total paid in cell G2 (I was thinking UDF #1 in SM for this), then I fill in Scott #'s & SCV in col A & B. the workbook totals the B col & sticks it in G1.
Col C auto-populates using " SCV / Col B SUM " ( Cell B# / G1 )
Col D auto-populates using " % of SCV * Total Paid " ( Cell C# * G2 )
Col E auto-populates using ( B# - ( B# * 40% ))
More or less I just want to know if (& how) to assign a manual total of an invoice to UDF #1 & see UDF #2 populate the % of SCV Paid & UDF #3 show the 40% of SCV I use for Auction prices.
I hope all this makes sense, I don't really understand the math, my father-in-law showed me the formula & he has been using it for 20-25 years now.

I just bought a brother QL-700 Label Printer & StampManage has decided that particular model of Brother printers is the devil.
If any one of ya'll is a StampManage / Brother Printer expert, I could really use a hand getting mine set up
I also had a couple minor suggestions....
- In the Purchase information window on the add stamp frame, it would be nice to have a field for like Invoice # (if I buy multiple lots from the same seller on ebay, etc)
- when you click Apply button while adding multiple new stamps, it automatically auto-populates Date Bought, Bought From, Etc, is there any way to turn on auto-populate for the cost & cachet maker fields? it would really help when adding items from same dealer or cachet maker.
as always, thanks a ton,
Rod

Another quick question...
My trial/demo is expiring in less than a week, should I hold off purchasing until the 2015 version is released?

Thanks for getting back with me, I appreciate it.
I would like to throw in another thought on Item 2 if I may...
- What exactly is the "Type" field for? I interpret that to be the same as on the General tab, Condition of Stamp, Cancel field, (Avg, Fancy, Heavy, Light, Pre, etc). I am pretty new to this, so I am probably missing something....
- I would like to suggest that instead of just "City", that it was broken down to 3 fields, City, State, Zip. Filling in City & State would offer suggested zips, or filling in zip would autopopulate City & State.
- As far as the Postmarks, Date field, i would suggest that it work like the Purchase or Sold date fields, (Dropdown calendar selection).
Just a couple of thoughts for you,
Rod

Hello All,
I have a couple of "Can I do this & if so, how?" questions.
- On the General Tab, in the 'Add Stamp' > 'Value' window, is it possible to hide everything except FDC?
- On the Additional Info tab, in the Postmark window, how can I make it remember the previous entries for these 3 fields? IE: if I have a qty of cachets all postmarked in a city, it would be nice if it autofilled as I was typing a previously entered City, State, Zip, Date, Etc.

Okay, Thanks, I will look into that.
I also wanted to say thanks for incorporating the drop-down Postmark City as I suggested, but I have a question about that...
Where can I go to edit that list? I have made some typos & such, so have near duplicate entries that I would like to delete.
I have opened the "StampData.mdb" file with MS Access, but cannot find the table containing that data.
Thanks again,
Rod
