  1. It would be much more convenient to add stamps to the Exchange/Sell collection in much the same manner as adding stamps to the Want List collection from the Stamp Manage Catalog.  I find it very easy to add stamps to my Want List from SMC by just right clicking and the selecting "Add to Want List".

Could not the same feature be programmed to add stamps to the Exchange/Sell collection rather than having to close SMC, going into "Collections", selecting "Exchange/Sell",  going back to SMC, finding the country and then the item, and the right clicking and selecting "add to current collection"?

Am I doing it wrong or is there already a better way?

    Thanks,

  2. After 5 years has this issue regarding want list items not being removed when stamps are added to a collection been followed up on or is it just me?

I've just realized again that this is not happening. I've been adding stamps to my Faroe Islands collection and have had to remove items manually from my want list after having added them to my collection.

Must I now have go back and "re-inventory" my collections to determine what I have and don't have in order to have accurate want lists??

  3. Jan, I checked and just as you mentioned Scott #345 as well as #344 are missing from the stamp Manage Catalog.  This is what I did and it worked in populating the Stamp Manage Catalog with these two stamps.

Go to Tools > Stamp Data Manager > Open Belgium > Semi Postal > Stamps -Text

If you scroll down you will notice that #344 and #345 are in fact in the database, just click and highlight 344 and then 345 and then close the window using "Close" at the bottom left. When the window is finished updating choose another country and then go back to Belgium. You should find that the 2 items now appear in the catalog.

Let me know if this works for you.

  4. UPDATE:

Happily to say that that I've fixed my problem but there appears to be a flaw with the software.

Since the data which I knew should appear in the StampManage Catalog was not there I checked in the Stamp Data Manager and to my surprise there it all was. I simply closed the window with the "Close" button and then when I checked the SM Catalog it appeared there as well. Perhaps all that was required was this "refresh" of sorts.

Due to a failed attempt to install my Stamp Manage data to my laptop I am now experiencing the same problem with my desktop.

The issue being that when I attempt to "Restore" my last zipped backup file from the previous night there is data missing which I know should be there. I've actually attempted using 2 different backup files with the same results. Any idea as to what the issue may be and how it can be fixed?

  5. I would like to enter the size of a stamp or sheet (width and height). Are there fields to enter this data as I could not find any?

If not an alternative would be to enter this formation in the "User Defined Felds" but the field names are simply "Field 1" and "Field 2". Would it be possible to incorporate the ability to rename these fields to anything the user desired such as "Width" an "Height"?

  6. I am not seeing the entire Stamp Data Manager window, it appears to be too large for my screen and extends out past the bottom where not everything is visible.

This happens when working from my laptop but not on my desktop which I use at home. The suggested help advice has been attempted but no change.

    Regards,

  7. Its happened to me again today when using the Edit feature in the Stamp Manage Catalog. I've been adding images for Iceland Scott 788a, 788b, 788c and 788d and the images show up for other catalog numbers where there were already images.

  8. I've noticed that after adding stamps to a collection I have to manually remove the same stamps from my want list. Could not a routine be developed so that when a stamp is added to a collection it is automatically removed from a want list? Perhaps a popup could also appear asking for confirmation of the deletion.

  9. Has anyone had problems with attaching images to catalog numbers in Stamp Manage Catalog? Quite often when I attach an image to say catalog number 123 it also appears incorrectly for several other catalog numbers, 101, 139, and 150 for example. Any ideas on why this happens and how to fix the problem? Attached is an image to better explain, the Finland catalog number 1337b (Sauna stamp) I attached an image to and it also appears for 1338a (Moomin stamp) where it shouldn't. It also appears for 2 other catalog numbers 1335d and 1339.
