Problems with dates in 2024

Hi,

I'm going through adding my date purchased and supplier info for my collection and I noticed some dates are in USA format and some in european format ie;

12/02/2023
12/02/2023
29/11/2023
28/11/2023

Why can't the software pick up the regional date format from windows or allow us to set the date format we want to use?

Also when sorting a date column it doesn't sort correctly ie;

12/01/2023
12/02/2023
11/06/2023
12/06/2023
12/07/2023
...

So i'm picking the date in the date picker (often with multiple selections) as the 7th December 2023, the date is being stored in the database as Wednesday, 12 July 2023 (no idea why it's using a long date) and then being shown in the program as 12/07/2023. Somewhere between picking the date and storing it in the database is going wrong. It's a handy program but less useful to me if date fields aren't accurate.
