pattrickcolin
When one inputs the denomination could you please put the denomination first.e.g. 4 x 2c should read 2c x 2 etc 25 x 5c should read 25c x 5 etcOne could then end up with a denominations field which is more searchable.Another irritation is showing quarter, half and three-quarters as 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4By Holding Down the ALT key and typing 0188 you get ¼ Holding down the ALT Key and typing 0189 you get ½and Holding down the ALT Key and typing 0190 you get ¾One and a half pence looks so much neater from '11/2p' as '1½p'Lastly 'Forever', '1st', etc. stamps where the value is assumed. If these are entered as 'Forever', or '1st' etc. and any denomination value, at issue, and not shown on the stamp, is enclosed in brackets.'Forever(5c)' or '1st (37p)'would be helpfulThankyou for readingColin P. admin
Hi we are going to do search and replace to fix these. I agree with everything you said. Check out the video for Whats New in StampManage 2015, it has a new text screen in the Stamp Data Manager that shows those Alt key combinations as well. Denis
Hi,I found the same issue with VarietyDenomination in StampManage Canada 2014 and this is what I did to solve it:For one stamp: 54cFor one permanent stamp: P54cFor 6 stamps of the same value: 54c(6)For a souvenir sheet showing different values: P54c(2), 85c, $1.25Whenever I am adding a stamp, I follow these rules:The lowest denomination is always first. The values less than 10c have a space ahead of them, so 1c, 2c, 3c... 9c are before 10c in the list.A booklet or booklet pane is treated as a multiple of the same value [ex. 85c(6)] an not as a total value [$5.10]Fractions are shown as 1/2, etc. Ex. 12 1/2cUsing this approach, it is very easy to browse through the list by denomination.I have finished porting these values for Canada in StampManage 2015 and I am opened to share them with the community. If you can get us your STAMPDATA.MDB file we can merge these changes into the master database. If you have purchased the software you can do an internet backup and email us when that is done. Or ZIP and email the STAMPDATA.MDB file, thanks in advance.
