pattrickcolin
I have scanned lots of stamps into my database. However yesterday I uncounted a problem with New Hebrides issue, Churchill Issue, Scott 62 to 65. I used the same 96dpi settings and get an irregular wavy line. I've a)increased the dpi setting as high as 4800 placed the stamps in a different position on the scanner and get the same wavy line each time. Today the scanner works perfectly for other stamps, being scanned in. However the problem is still there for Scott 62 to 65. Any SM viewer got any suggestions? The last image is borrowed from the internet, this is how I want my scan to look. admin

pattrickcolin
At 96 dpi I realize that I am reaching the minimum setting that I wish to scan at.For smallish stamps I find 96dpi seem to be an ideal settingFor Souvenir Sheets and envelopes, etc I find 192dpi seems to be an ideal settingI accept that one can scan at higher settings but this has an adverse affect on the SM Database Size. With downloads now being measured in hours and minutes, increasing dpi doesn't seem ideal.Does any one have any suggestions for dpi?Regards Colin P.S.Also thank you for your replyI played around with the settings up to 4800 for my New Hebrides issue, Churchill Issue, Scott 62 to 65. All with the wavy line results. Strange it only affects this issue (I hope)
