Jeff Lynch reacted to maineiac13 in Sold Stamps Not Categorized Until Close/Reopen Program
I am  new to this program and am entering my collection.  In addition to my current collection, my database also includes stamps that I have sold over the years.  When I enter stamps information it initially puts all stamps (sold, unsold, etc.) into the current window which in my case is typically the My Collection folder - United States.  So even  though I am entering Sold Stamps, those stamps do not go directly into the Sold Stamps folder.  The only way I can be sure that they are getting properly placed into the Sold Stamps folder is by closing the program, then re-opening it.  At that point all the sold stamps properly appear in the Sold Stamps folder.  So my questions are: Is this the way the program is designed to work?  Is there another way to get the Sold Stamps into the proper place without closing/opening the program? (I know that if I have the Sold Stamps window open then the Sold Stamps will go directly into the Sold Stamps Folder...however then the unsold stamps go there until the program is closed/opened.)  Hopefully this is clear...thanks for any assistance, Ken

Yes I agree. Date & Year should be seperate. Date seems okay but Year is a mess within the database. Agree Year should be a 'short text' field as one needs to enter year spans (1860-1862).
But this has not stopped the Misuse of this field.
Year field should be Year only The rejection of entries NOT 'numeric' or '-' should be built into the database.

Ray,  the APU (Ashton-Potter (USA)) coil stamp with the USPS microprint in the bottom white stripe of the flag is Scott # 4854.  The SSP (Sennet Security Products) coil stamp with the USPS microprint above the flagpole is Scott # 4868.  The SSP stamp without the microprint is a booklet stamp Scott #4869.  All of these stamps are listed in Stampmanage but the photos may not show the microprint.

Hi, no there is no way to specify which reports will show. But it is a good idea, we will see if we can add it for a future version.

Just wondering, is there a way to control what reports appear in the list?
For Example: As a single user for personal use, I don't necessarily need/want to see Stamps Owned by Customer in the list
Additionally, while the new Cancel Report is a great addition, is i possible to hide this report?
I tried deleting the 'Stamps Owned by Customer' report and reloading StampManage but it still appears so it would seem it's hard coded. I restored the file, just so i won't get any error message in the future

Both good ideas and not too hard to implement.  We will add them soon for inclusion in  a free update.

Agreed, a mobile version would be extremely handy! Or might there be plans on the roadmap for a Cloud Version?

The status bar space has potential to showcase more detail. the detail provided already is GREAT!
    Used Space:
Unused Space (dependent on resolution and windows size of course)

but is it possible to show something similar to excel? If i select one or more cells it will show summary detail below... sometimes it would be nice to see what a selection of stamps would go for if i select them from the Stamp Manage catalog would be great to at the bottom what the mnh-vf or the use-vf would be (perhaps control what is exposed in summary view from the application preferences menu?

Additionally, if not multi-select summary can the StampManage Catalog Country Series (or any grouping for that matter) show the Mint-VF/Used-VF summary instead of just the item count?
    Example below:

    status bar

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Is there any plans for a mobile version or a way to export data (Scott, values, if owned) to be used in Mobile device?  This would be great for shows to prevent buying duplicates.  Or maybe a way to export that data to a Google sheet that could be used on mobile.  (Doesn't need images). Personally looking for Android version of StampManage USA.

Here is the link to my 2160+ Finland Stamp Images. Its a big download but it runs in he background.
    "502" Finland Images =https://ln.sync.com/dl/505fed8a0/aqhmaatn-67qed69c-vag48j9u-ju5tf4fy
The link will load into a folder "Sync/502". Be aware that this is a live feed to my Finland images. As I add more images these will automatically be added. You are advised to copy and paste the "Sync/502" folder into "Stamp Manage Images/502" because if I discontinue the link you will also lose the images.
I am preparing a copy of my database for Stamp Manage.
    Regards colinATcolinpattrickDOTcom
P.S. The images are freely available for anyone to download.

Jeff Lynch got a reaction from admin in Importing Picture results in duplication of that file
I just upgraded to StampManage USA 2016 and while the experience was alright i am encountering a problem. I recently started collecting FDCs and i figure i would start storing those photos for references purposes. This is likely a user problem so please bear with me as i explain this. I add a stamp, specify the number fill out the information and the cachet type then head on over to the "Picture of my Stamp Page" and attempt to import a picture. BTW the capture from Webcam is nice feature, I will stick to my camera phone as the image quality is a tad crisper.
    I noticed two things:
Selecting Import and then selecting my photo (which i coped to desired location), it duplicates the photo in the folder, is this by design or am i importing incorrectly? Selecting the Import and then selecting the Straighten and Crop button the process runs and hits an error (out of memory). My system is Windows 10 with 48GB Ram and StamManage is using less than 125MB  of memory. is it due to the size of the images? screenshot provided for item one shows the original files as <scortts#><Type><Detail>.jpg (1002FDC_ArtCraft.jpg) Thanks in advance, any guidance would be greatly appreciated
    Jeff
