  1. Jawo, I have noticed several times that changes I make do not take effect until I exit StampManager and re-start it. Have you tried that? Also, maybe you need to add a stamp. Have you tried adding a stamp to your new category via the "Stamps" tab along the top of the Data Manager window? Good luck!
  2. I have not tried this but... open the "Stamp Data Manager" (TOOLS > STAMP DATA MANAGER), then read the second paragraph of instructions in the center of the window. Maybe that will do what you're asking about. Good luck!
  3. Yes, I currently have four album names that contain parenthesis. Like this: White Ace-1 (1893-1956). And before I'm done adding my stamps I'll probably need at least five or six more named like that.
  4. To: Liberty Street Support If I try to view my collection by choosing from the Menu bar "View > Albums / Stock Books" I get the following errors and I don't see anything but a blank screen. I click OK on the first error and then the second one pops up. When I click OK on the second error, I see just the empty screen. Screenshots attached.
  5. You need to select My Collection in the Move Stamp window, then click OK. They WILL move back to the Country and Category that they were deleted from. I've had to do this a few times and It does work!
  6. Thanks for your reply! 1. Yes, as well as preselected conditions for the other items in Condition of Stamp such as Hinged, Centering, Cancel, and Gum. And, I would like to select these conditions via Prreferencesif possible! 2. Shading every other row light yellow will help break up the rows. Would you add vertical grid lines to break up the columns?
  7. In the past, I've sent email to techsupport@libertystreet.com and never got a reply! And, they rarely respond in this forum. If you've got something positive to say, why not give a little detail to spread the joy?
  8. Ok, got it! Thanks for the explanation!
  9. Ok, just what do you mean by "if you tie the grade to the database"? Please explain! Thanks
  10. I use StampManage USA 2018. I have an ASUS 24" display with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 (16:10). My StampManage displays are just great! There is a setting in TOOLS > PREFERENCES named "Font Height For Lists of Stamps" that lets you change the font height for the "List Pane". It DOES work and I actually reduced my font size so that I could see more on the display. If you make a change to the font height via this setting, be sure to click OK on the window and then CLOSE StampManage. When you re-open StampManage, you'll see the change.
  11. OK, folks, this is very weird! The StampManage program WILL SAVE the column widths for each different Category of Collections. I use StampManage USA 2018 and I have set the viewable columns (via Tools > Preferences > Columns) to be the same in each of the following Categories: Showing Collection, Showing Country, & Showing Category. So, the columns are the same in each of those categories, but I find that I can set the width of various columns in any of those categories differently and the program SAVES those column widths when I close the program! The next time I open the program, the column widths are just as I had set them in the previous session. If the program will do this, why won't it save the size of the various panes on the main window? Perhaps the developer just has NOT taken the time to investigate this issue! I hope I've described this condition properly. Does anyone else notice this? What say you?
  12. Another feature that I'd like to see is Gridlines in the list displays. Fine, light grey gridlines like those available in MS Excel spreadsheets would be nice. Often, because of row height and column width constraints, adjacent columns and rows of stamp data blend together and it makes reading the info difficult. I think adding gridlines would help separate adjacent data cells and make the program appear more "user-friendly". Could this also be added to the Tools > Preferences... dialog?
  13. I would like to be able to set "default" entries for ALL of the fields in the "Condition of Stamp" section of the Add Stamp(s) window. This feature change would significantly decrease the time spent adding stamps to my collection. You would, of course, keep the ability to click the drop-down to override the default. Could this be added to the Tools / Preferences... dialog?
  14. I use StampManage USA 2018 and the "Font Height For Lists of Stamps" feature DOES work! You just need to make the change and then close the program and then re-open it for the change to take effect. It works fine for me except that I reduced the font size. FYI, this feature only changes the height of the font, NOT the height of the row in the list display. So, if you increase the font size, you'll actually see less info in the list display, but what you do see will be larger!
  15. This is my #1 PET PEEVE with StampManage. There is NO way to save the screen layout! And it smacks you in the face each and every time you open the program. The default layout is dominated by the image of the first stamp in your collection and only lists 6 stamps in the "list" panel. This needs to be fixed!
  16. In the Deleted Stamps folder, select the stamp(s) that you want to restore and then click the Move Stamp(s) tool on the toolbar to move or copy to the location of your choice.
  17. This is VERY aggravating! More stamps improperly tagged as "USPS Panel". Some idiot has no clue what a USPS Commemorative Panel is. It is an 8 1/2" x 11" format printed with photos and story about the subject stamp. There is a space provided to mount the actual stamp. These Commemorative Panels have a different Scott numbering system which are prefixed "CP". Liberty Street needs to check these user submissions for accuracy before adding to their database! This is a waste of my time having to correct this wrong data! Or, are they just relying on user submissions to correct this crap and then turn around and charge for an upgrade?
  18. Open the Add Stamp(s) dialog then scroll it down to #903. Select 903 by clicking on it, then hold the <Shift> key down and click on 908. All six stamps from 903 to 908 should now be selected. Fill in the appropriate Condition info and then click on the Additional Information tab at the top and then you can add your purchase info. Then, click OK and all 6 of the stamps will be added to your collection. You may need to use the Properties editor or the Variety editor (F2) to change or adjust values or other info for some of the group. If you need to add groups of stamps that are not consecutively numbered (i.e. 903, 905, 907), select the first one in the group, then hold the <Ctrl> key down and select the others in the group. Then you just add the Condition info and other pertinent data and click OK to add. Easy-peasy!
  19. I am using StampManage USA 2018. I collect only Commemorative stamps and I am slowly entering my stamp collection into the program. I find that I'm spending a TOO MUCH time correcting the incorrect and erroneous data contained in the built-in database. Attached is just one small example that occurs VERY frequently. The stamp I added is US Scott #1824. It's "Variety" is noted as "USPS Panel" which is wrong and not even close to the single stamp that it is. There are also other glaring bogus entries in the built-in data. Just who are the two users "epcoach" and "Michael" that created and edited this entry? Why should I have to pay for "annual upgrades" if I have to spend so much time correcting the supplied data? Even many of the supplied stamp images are very low quality!
  20. When was the last backup made prior to adding all those unwanted stamps? Maybe you could do a restore from the last backup.
  21. I hope you're not holding your breath waiting to hear from them!
  22. I am a relatively new user but I do not see an "undo" function. Even a <ctrl>-z which does an undo in most other programs does not work. I guess you'll have to select big groups of unwanted stamps and Delete them. Just another item to add to the list of shortcomings in this program.
  23. Well then, I suppose your only alternative would be to use MS Access to edit the database file after you make a backup copy. It may take a while to find which table it's in but it works. That's what I did to correct misspellings of "Bureau of Engraving and Printing" in the database.
  24. That's a bummer that you can't delete a misspelled "Bought From" item. I've not tried deleting like that. Is it possible that the misspelled item is referenced in other stamps and the program just won't let you delete an item that is referenced in other places?
