  1. === QUESTION We have 2 sites that need to use this software. Does the software allow the 2 sites to keep track of their own assets individually? I’m not sure whether I need to purchase two 1-computer licenses or one 2-computer license? Hope that makes sense… === ANSWER The 2 user license would accomplish this. It will activate the software on 2 computers, does’nt matter whether they share a data file or each have their own data file.
  2. Hi, I think if you look at the majority of questions on this forum in the last few months you will see they are answered within a few hours. When we get a question from a customer that may be of concern to others, you will notice we post it here or as a new item on our support page... One other item, check out our competitors web-sites in the coin, stamp and bank note collecting software field. Most of the companies DO NOT EVEN HAVE forums in which questions can be answered for customers. For example, a quick search reveals a coin collecting software program from a company that has been around a long, long time, sells a product for almost twice as much as ours, does not have a forum or even a support page for frequent questions, Actually they do have a support page that say simply "they will be updating this page at some point", well when is that going to happen? We have spent quite a bit of time trying to improve our support pages and reply to questions faster. That includes instructional videos which we have found are quite helpful to customers to explain certain tasks...
  3. The PostMark City list is generated when you start the program. You would need to edit the stamp that has the mis-spelled postmark city and correct it. The mis-spelled item should not appear the next time you run the program. Enumerate the :"Postmark City" section in the View tab to find the mis-spelled items. (see attached image)
  4. Hi, you can't do formulas in User defined fields. However, the report designer has support for many math functions and you could create a calculated field that would be based on your formula. I would recommend you take a long read of the functions found in the Report Designer User Guide. You can find this guide in PDF format in the folder where you installed StampManage. You can also open it from within the program, see the Report Designer Guide menu option under the HELP menu.
  5. === QUESTION The following is an extract of the StampManage Getting Started Guide 2014. This feature is extremely useful and usually works fine. However, on my computer, it does not work when the Scott Number is made of two or three identical figures such as 66 or 666, unless I press the space bar immediately after. ================================================================================================= Find a stamp in a list without scrolling? If you know the Scott Number of a stamp, simply make sure the list is active by clicking on it, then type the Scott Number of the stamp. If a stamp with that Scott # is in the list, the stamp will be selected and moved into view. This feature will work everywhere in StampManage where you see a list of stamps (Collection View, Add Stamp Dialog, etc...) ================================================================================================ I did my tests with 2014 Canadian Database, Regular Issues, after checking that those numbers existed. I also deleted the Headers.WCD file, reset the Add Stamp dialog and rebooted my computer with no success. I would appreciate your feedback on this issue. ==== ANSWER We noticed this as well. We will take a look at why it is happening in the next few days. It may be some sort of issue where the system can't tell the same key was pressed 2 times in a row.
  6. Hi, we are hard at work on a user permissions feature that would be based on the Active Directory. The program could populate the list of employees from the Active Directory and would use the same sign-on info as the Active Directory. Additional permissions specifice to AssetManage would be stored so you could specify who can do what within the software. This feature will be a free upgrade to any users of the latest current version of AssetManage Standard or Enterprise. Please let me know if this will work for you, comments from other users are also welcomed.
  7. You don't have to buy the program at full price again, but you would need to upgrade at the reduced upgrade cost. It is not mandatory to upgrade, you can continue using the version you have or upgrade in a future year at no penalty. Each upgrade will bring the program completely up to date.
  8. Hi, regarding the column settings, they are stored in a file called HEADERS.WCD and should be in the user's MY DOCUMENTS\AssetManage Enterprise folder. it is possible to copy a HEADERS.WCD file to another user's local MY DOCUMENTS folder to replicate the same settings The User defined fields, Company info and DEPRECIATION settings are stored in the program database and should be the same for all. Most of the general settings you see in the PREFERENCE main section would be stored in the Windows Registry which would make it hard to replicate these settings to other machines. Please note that if you have several users using a particular machine you can install using the ALL USERS option which would mean all users of that machine would share the same Windows Registry settings.
  9. Paul, it’s xxxx we have talked a couple of times and I still am having a ball with your program. I am entering my collection (and sending it to you as I go) and was wondering if there was a way you might at “Typo.” In the drop down box of printing types and “on piece” in the drop down box of Hinge types or is there a way that I can add items to the drop down boxes. === ANSWER Good idea we will add it to our to-do list for the next free update. Any other users who have suggestions please feel free to post them here or email them to us at: info@libertystreet.com
  10. Hi, for the Deluxe version we have a full 4GB demo and a smaller demo that is under 1GB. The smaller demo contains only images for USA and Canadian stamps. The full 4GB demo contains all the images you would see in the paid version. Please note we are releasing a free update later in March that will contain a few thousand new images and variety listings. The demo versions can not perform Internet backups, the only other limitation is you can use for 30 days. If you need more time, we can send a trial extension code no problems. The program is only indexed for the SCOTT numbering system. I don't believe Gibbons or Michel even license there numbering system to 3rd parties.
  11. I just added a new coin type to my CoinManage USA 2015 application, but it's out of order. My new type of "Bullion Bars" should be just in front of "Bullion Coins" in My Collection. How can I fix this? I looked through the GettingStartedGuide.pdf document but couldn't find an answer. This is what the order looks like (See Attachment 1) ANSWER: The sort order is dictated by the Denomination Weight & Order field in the Type info page, (see attachment image 2). The Denomination weight for the last type defined in Bullion Bars is 5000, so it will appear after the Stella 4 dollar coins (4000) and just before the 5 dollar gold coins (5000). If you set the denomination weight of every type you define in "Bullion Bars" to 4999 it will appear right before "Bullion Coins" Regarding the Type Order field...In most cases we set this field to the first year of issue in that particular type (for example 1793 for Liberty Cap half cents). This dictates where the type appears in the parent denomination.
  12. I have a question. How do I delete a collection. I can delete inside the collection with the delete button but I would like to delete the actual collection. ANSWER: The best way to Delete a collection is to right mouse click on it and then select DELETE from the popup menu. When you click on a collection the program shows the coins from that collection and then sets the window input focus to the list of coins so clicking the DELETE button on the toolbar would delete the selected coins from the list, this can be confusing.
  13. Hi, as the name implies, the CoinManage Canada & ColinManage USA only show coins from those countries. You can upgrade to the Deluxe version which includes listings for additional countries. Please email sales@libertystreet.com for details.
  14. Hi, we are working on a free update that will correct these incorrect images as well as several other fixes/improvements. Expect it to be ready in mid-March. Thanks for the report, any reports of this nature are most appreciated.
  15. How precise is that “wand” that scans the slabbed coins? I have a lot, and this sounds great. *** The barcode on the PCGS slab is very thin, you basically need a scanner that can scan this type of barcode. It can be done with a wand type scanner or higher quality "regular" barcode scanner. Will your inventory software accept competed sets, such as I have sets of uncirculated, non-slabbed, uncirculated sets of all 20th century denominations…I don’t want to grade each coin. *** What we have added to most USA coin types is a generic "TYPE" variety for each major design of that type. That should make it easier to inventory a type coin where the exact date / MM is not really important. How about rolls? I have many rolls of uncirculated coins? Can I enter them as rolls and get a price per roll? *** We don't currently have values for rolls, you can enter the quantity of coins in the roll and grade, it will then multiply the individual coin value by the quantity. How often does the price update take place? Weekly, monthly, quarterly? Are those for retail or wholesale prices or both? *** We update the main values once a year like most major price guides. THe PCGS value updates around every 3 months or so. If you have bullion coins the value is updated every time you update the spot prices via the internet.
  16. Hi, the PREFERENCES let you set the columns that will be shown for any COLLECTION, COUNTRY and TYPE. To have the columns show exactly the same whenever you click on any collection, country or type in the collection view you would need to set the columns for all 3 sections. We assumed you wouldnt want to see the country column when you selected a country and so forth, no reason you can't change it to your preference.
  17. hi, the program always had a unique id for each stamp you enter, it is just in the 2015 version we have added the ID column to the default display. The unique ids for your stamps were not changed. Could you be confusing the ID column with the SCOTT number column? If you can do an INTERNET BACKUP and then email us we can take a look at your issues with the upgrade.
  18. If you need to move StampManage to a new computer, you can free up the code that is being used on the old computer by choosing: TOOLS > LICENSING > DEACTIVATE LICENSE... from the main menu. If you uninstall the program or upgrade to a newer operating system before deactivating you can email us the code at sales@libertystreet.com and we will deactivate it over the internet. Note if you are upgrading to a newer Microsoft Windows operating system you should also deactivate before the upgrade. We find that the installing a newer operating system seems to sometimes require reactivation of the program. Purchase of StampManage entitles you to install on up to 2 computers. If you need more, please email and we can add an activation.
  19. Customers with older STAMPDATA.MDB StampManage data files often ask how to copy their data file from a backup storage device or other computer to a new computer running StampManage 2015. The steps to do this are: Create a folder on the new machine that will contain the data folder, should be under the MY DOCUMENTS or PUBLIC DOCUMENTS folder. Copy the old STAMPDATA.MDB file into the newly created folder running StampManage 2015 on the new machine...choose FILE > OPEN NEW DATABASE FILE… From the main menu, then select the file that you copied into the newly created folder.. The choose: FILE > UPDATE STAMPMANAGE DATA FILE Which should update the file to include all the new varieties from the 2015 Edition It is good practice to EXIT then restart the software after doing this.
  20. ==== QUESTION Hi After adding lots of stamps and deleting stamps the icons are not responding (nothing is working) I tried turning off the status bar, rebooting nothing is helping. Thanking you in advance for any help you can give me. I don't know if it has anything to do with it but a few days previous to this I had downloaded an update of 2013 stamp manage It was working fine until now ==== ANSWER This problem appears to happen after the window position settings for the Add Stamp dialog get messed up. The solution was to simply run: TOOLS > RESET ADD STAMP DIALOG WINDOW SIZE SETTINGS If so, do that..EXIT the program and then run it again. If the problem persists I think I have to remote to your machine to delete Some things from your WINDOWS registry.
  21. is there any possibility your anti-virus is stopping the download from running?
  22. === QUESTION I think I may have screwed up but- - I can't get my 2nd computer to download from the cloud restore feature. I have stamp manage running on my main machine using the activation code sent via email. Now I have the program running on my second machine using the activation code sent with the cd. Is this why the cloud feature dosen't work? Should I delete the backup cd install on the second machine, reinstall it off line and use the same activation code as the first machine. (Code is still good?) === ANSWER The internet backup and restore on 2 different machines requires the same activation code on both. If you do an internet backup on a machine that was activated with one code, the machine that will be used to restore must have been activated with the same code. The demo program will not do an internet backup as it has not been activated.
  23. Recent question from a customer: I deleted all the roosevelt dimes from 1965 to present. I did this a few weeks ago. I also deleted them from the "needed to complete" list also. But now, I want them because i purchased some new dimes. when i click add new coin it does not have any of the deleted coins. how do i get them back? thanks for your help Answer: Try the UPDATE DATA FILE command under the FILE menu, it should add back any varieties that you deleted from the master database. Note this applies only to 2015 editions of CoinManage
  24. Hi, we have been adding new varieties the past few weeks which will result with a free update in early March.
  25. === QUESTION I bought your coin manage software. I am trying to find how to add single proof coins to the database. I see where you can add sets but not single coins. For example I am trying to add a 1982 PF69 penny but PF is not an option under grading. === ANSWER That is because this particular variety does not have a value for the PF-69 condition. You can still specify PF-69 by choosing it from the CONDITION dropdown box. You would have to enter your own value. We try to provide values for as many conditions as possible.
