  1. Ok there is no reason we cannot add that feature to the program, it is in our other programs. Will add it for the next free update.
  2. === QUESTION I have a large Canadian Cover collection that I would like to enter into my 2015 StampManage program. This collection is basically a collection of pre postage stamp & early postage stamp era town cancellations on covers, not first day covers. It seems I cannot make a “new” COLLECTION by setting up contents for the column I would like to use without including “Scott cat #”. There are no Scott nor any other number system for this collection. I must set up my own numbering system. An example might be using a county such as Richmond and then enter in all towns within the county... eg: Rich1, Rich2 as a numbering system, followed by “Postmark City”, Postmark Date, Postmark type, etc. I would of course want to add pictures of each cover. Is there a way to do such a collection? Can I save this collection to be viewed in Microsoft Excel? === ANSWER Ok, basically you would like to define columns for individual collections. I can understand why you would need to do this for the situation described. Unfortunately StampManage will currently allow you to only define a global column format for all collections. Changing the columns for each collection is not easy but not too hard and we will try to make it happen in the next major version. You can export any collection to Microsoft Excel, you simply right mouse click on the report, RUN a report and choose Microsoft Excel from the Print dialog dropdown.
  3. We are working on this today for the upcoming free update. Sorry for the delay.
  4. Search YouTube for some decent how to videos on .
  5. === QUESTION I am looking for home inventory software that will enable me to attach PDF's. I've looked at several so far. All will let you attach an image file but, none will let me attach a PDF. I need that feature for scanned operating manuals, Warranties, Insurance Policies etc. Is your software capable of doing this, and if so HOW? === ANSWER Yes HomeManage can let you attach PDF files to records, you would use the ATTACHMENTS feature. Simply specify the PDF file to be attached in the ATTACHMENTS tab part of the ASSET PROPERTIES window.
  6. === QUESTION I purchased the StampManage software and have found it to be an exceptional piece of software. However, I am having a very irritating problem. When I use the Report function and download a report to Excel, PDF etc, it is not in Scott catalog sequence. The sequence goes something like this: 1 110 120 2 227a 255 3 With a thousand stamps, this is a big issue and makes the reports irritable at best. Even in Excel, I cannot re-sort without the same result. I would expect the software to be able to create a report with the above results in the following sequence regardless of the report function: 1 2 3 110 120 227a 255 === ANSWER StampManage lets you sort reports on more than one column. To set the sort order of a report, edit the report (REPORTING > EDIT REPORT...) Then click on the "table" object in the report designer. Notice the SORT ORDER field in the PROPERTIES window at the lower left, Click there to set the sort order for a report.
  7. === QUESTION I have several seperate collections (Mint/Unused, Used, U.S., foriegn, etc.). Some of my most annoying problems include not being able to get reports on seperate collections. The reports always include all stamp from all collections. Not being able to modify the sequnce of the reports. As a matter of fact I'm not sure in what sequnce the reports are produced. Do you have a quick answer for me or is there documentation or a publication that comprehensively explains the process? === ANSWER To run a report that only incudes stamps from a particular collection, simply right mouse click on the colleciton and select one of the output report options. This concept applies everywhere, so if you right mouse click on UNITED STATES within a collection, only USA stamps from the collection will show in the report.
  8. === QUESTION Our company has purchased Asset Manager but I was not given a manual for it. My question is does Asset Manager come with a hard copy manual? The software was put on my computer and I was given no instructions on how to use it. Any help you can give me to find a manual would be greatly appreciated. === ANSWER You should see the option to order the software on CD with printed manual at time of purchase. To order more manuals later, visit: Purchase AssetManage Standard Manual Purchase AssetManage Enterprise Manual or select HELP > PURCHASE HARD COPY MANUAL from the main menu.
  9. === QUESTION We currently have AssetManage Standard install on a laptop as a single user. We would like to install this software on that laptop as the Administrator in a multi-user environment and place the reports, images and database on a server. Do I move the reports, data and image folder to the server and un-install the software and re-install the software on the laptop selecting Administrator in a Multi-user install. Selecting the paths on the server in the software and writing-over the database? === ANSWER The way to do this is to create FOLDERS on your network for the IMAGES, REPORTS and DATA. Make sure each user has both READ/WRITE access to these folders Move all the files from the local folder to the corresponding network folder Change the REPORT, IMAGES and DATA directories in the PREFERENCES (TOOLS > PREFERENCES) to point to the network folders. To Quickly go to the REPORT, DATA or IMAGES folder select (FILE > GO TO DATA FOLDER, etc..) from the main menu.
  10. === QUESTION I have a couple of questions regarding your Great Britain data base. Can it be purchased separately? Does it have a separate catalogue field for each plate number of each stamp for the Queen Victoria issues? === ANSWER As of right now you would need to purchase the Deluxe version to get the Great Britain database, the Deluxe version also includes listings for many former Commonwealth countries. We are thinking of a separate UK/Australia/Commonwealth product, perhaps next year. The program does not have a separate listing for each plate number, however there is a plate number field you will find in the ADD STAMP dialog,
  11. You can manually create the DELETED ITEMS folder by editing the LSSLocations table. Add a new row with: LocationName : Deleted Items Type : 666 The program uses the Location with Type 666 as the Deleted Items folder Currently, you cannot forbid the deletion of assets
  12. Besides being able to define over 100 user defined fields, AssetManage will let you change the names of certain existing fields in the PREFERENCES (see attached screenshot)
  13. === QUESTION My company has 4-5 offices located in different states across the country all connected via WAN. I am wondering if your enterprise asset tracking software can be utilized by various users in different physical locations to access/update a single centrally located inventory database over the wide area network. In other words, can we store our inventory records on a server in California and have it accessible by users in Texas and Florida using your software? === ANSWER We would recommend you download the demo,, install if for the proposed users to verify the software performs for you in the way you expect. We have added record caching to the most recent build of AssetManage Enterprise which should reduce the amount of network requests used by the software. If the demo works as intended the full version will as well.
  14. === COMMENT FROM A CUSTOMER have just starting using "Attachments" and have really enjoyed that option, adding webpages and other info concerning an individual stamp. === RESPONSE Attachments are a useful feature some users may not be aware of, you can associate unlimited files (such as a receipt or certificate in PDF format), or an Internet link to any stamp you inventory or any stamp variety in the stamp database for that matter. It is also a way to include more images with a stamp, just add the stamp image file as an attachment
  15. === QUESTION I have a question I would like to ask if you may be able to help on this one that would be great, It is in relation to the currency displayed on the AssetManage system of an item located on the "General" tab, I had a quick browse on the forums and found that the currency is set according to what is set up on the local PC's control panel setting for "Regions & Languages". We've been using the software and it works well, but recently we started putting costs on the system - and since we work in multiple currencies (£ and $) mostly, I was wondering if its possible to remove the currency symbol altogether that is automatically generated when costs are put into the fields so we can manually input the currency we want? Is this possible on the system? === ANSWER The software formats currency according to the currency settings in the Windows Control Panel as mentioned above. I suppose it is possible to remove the currency symbol in your Windows Control Panel, but that will affect all applications that use the setting.
  16. === QUESTION CoinMange with the new update version doesn't work. Everytime I try to bring it up I get a prompt saying "unrecognized data base format. Can you help with this. === ANSWER This error means the database file has become corrupted, usually due to turning your computer off or losing power when CoinManage is open. In most cases this can be repaired by simply opening the COINDESC.MDB file in Microsoft Access... MS Access will detect the file needs to be repaired and do so. if you don't have MS Access you can ZIP and email us the file, we will repair it and email it back or share a DROPBOX folder in the case of large files.
  17. === QUESTION My company has purchased one license for your software, AssetManage Standard I have it loaded onto my computer and I am using it to track my company’s assets (Building 1). I have another person, in another building, who requires use of this software. RobV needs to track assets in Building 3. My company needs both of us (me and Rob) using this software. It really doesn’t matter if we can use it SIMULTANEOUSLY, as long as he and I can both operate the program. === ANSWER AssetManage licensing is based on the number of computers the program is installed on. It doesnt matter how many databases you are using, so if you purchase a 2 user license you could have 2 separate users with 2 separate databases...or 2 users working on a shared database.
  18. === QUESTION Does the software support all the revenue stamps i.e Postal Savings, Postage-Fractional Currancy, Etc.? === ANSWER The USA stamp database have extensive listings for USA Revenue stamps (see attached screenshots). 19. === QUESTION I will be purchasing one of your software shortly and have a few questions. I am mainly a collector of Canadian stamps, but will purchase the odd stamp from other countries. Is there any difference between the Canadian content covered by the Deluxe version and that of the Canadian only version? Are there any other differences in versions (i.e.: can the Canadian version create custom pages?). I guess my decision will be based on content mainly, are all the Canadian stamps covered in the deluxe version as detailed as that of the Canadian only version. Thank you for you assistance. === ANSWER There is no difference whatsoever in the Canada (& Provinces) stamp database and the canadian database in the Deluxe version, same varieties, images and values. This also applies to the USA only version
  20. Recent question from a customer regarding Printing Labels === QUESTION I have a ZEBRA LP2722 barcode printer. Will the AssetManage software support printing barcodes on this printer? === ANSWER Yes, you can print labels on any type of barcode printer, you would need to know the label measurements such as the x, y offsets, width, height, etc To set this info: 1/ Select REPORTING > EDIT LABELS 2/ Choose the label template you wish to use for printing 3/ Click on the PROJECT tab in the report designer and select the LAYOUT REGIONS button 4/ Change the parameters in the LAYOUT section After making changes it is probably a good idea to save the label template under a new filename You can then print out the labels by selecting OUTPUT LABELS USING... from any popup menu
  21. === QUESTION I have CoinManage 2015 installed on my laptop and desktop. Is there a way to configure CoinManage to use the same database no matter which machine I'm on? While I realize that both version won't be able to run at the same time, it would still be easier than copying the DB from machine to machine all the time. If you have a way to do this, I'd be interested in trying it. === ANSWER Yes you can share the database on your local home or business network. What you need to do is set the DATABASE DIRECTORY on your network where all users have READ/WRITE access to that folder. They will be able to use the program at the same time with the same database file. The only limitation is they would not be able to edit the same coin record at the same time. The Database directory can be set during install of the program or later changed in the Preferences (TOOLS > PREFERENCES)

  25. === QUESTION I notice your grading prices seem about double what the blue book lists. For example - A Lincoln 1909-S graded G-4 in the blue book shows about $50 and your software shows $100. Why so? === ANSWER I believe the Blue book is for wholesale prices. In other words, for the prices dealers would pay for a coin. This is usually around half of the coin's catalog value.
