Hello.  You sent me a demonstration disc for StampManage Deluxe 2016.  I have made several attempts to get the program to open after installation.  I get an error message that says "unrecognized database format", followed by another message with a yellow alert triangle and the number 3343.

We use our own in-house barcodes to identify asset numbers but which field should the value go in - Asset# or BarCode?
 
Unfortunately our staff have been using one or the other which leads to my next question - can we migrate the values between fields somehow to bring them all together?

I have been evaluating Home Manage. I see reports for tasks and maintenance but can't seem to find a way to enter any of this info into the program. I've tried searching the help file and nothing comes up. What am I missing?

I'm a registered user of CoinManage 2015. I find that there is no listing for the 2016 Silver Eagle. Will there be an update for the CoinManage Database anytime soon?  If not, how do I enter a 2016 Silver Eagle??

You have to follow the instructions exactly. When you install, do not install in Programs (x86) or similar files. The suggestion is to make a file in your documents folder, and use that instead. - This worked for me on re-install after I experienced your exact problem. 

I have purchased the 2013 edition and it ran find until I switch to a new PC.  Each time I activate the license key it keeps stating it is not valid and I need to buy another.  This is not correct according to you installation guide.  I would appreciate someone responding and letting me know what I can do.  Thanks...

Is there a way to have it show the customers Address and not just the Custodian Name on the receipt?

I upgraded to USA 2016 and searching for Scott # in the Stamp Manage Catalog does not work.  Returns 0 finds.  I am running Windows 10.

You have to do it for the regular 2015 values and then for the PCGS values, selecting from the VALUE TABLE drop down,.
We will try to make that more efficient.

Hi, we update the main prices once a year, you can use the APPLY VALUES command under the TOOLS menu to update prices.
Any bullion coins with a value set to B.V. will have their bullion value updated by that command.
2016 is out probably late Feb. / early March.  Anybody who buys CoinManage 2015 Dec. 1 or later will get a free upgrade.

First off great program. I have a few questions. 1) how often does coin manage update prices and can there be a manual update button added. 2) I have cm USA 2015. If I wanted to update to deluxe what's the price and when does 2016 come out?  3) how do I update my email in case I need to verify I bought the. Software. Do I just reference my old email and say to send any activation code s to my new email? 

I deleted the stamps when I was using adding stamp variety, I had done it wrong, on the left side where it shows all the counties. Under Israel there were three general issues showing , so I deleted them and there were no more stamps available to pick from the add stamp option. Do I have to load the whole program or just the country of Israel. I have stampmanage 2015 on my computer

3) Finally i want to export all the information to Excel. I saw a great number of reports in menu "Reporting", but could i make my own report? To choose fields (for example, description, category, location, room, image ...) that i want to add to the report by myself?
4) In the main window i see fields Image, AssetNum., Category, BrandName... Can i add or remove some fields from this window?

I have noticed that the country Libya is not listed in the database. Am I missing something?

I have a concern where Liberty has added a column called ID which now lists my stamps as I add them.

Previously when I added stamps by scott number the stamps listing were sequence by scott number. This is the wat I like and have always viewed my stamps.

How can I get back to this way and get rid of the program assigning an ID number.

Hi, to change the sort​ing back to be by SCOTT number, simply click on the SCOTT number column header. You can also get rid of the ID column showing by changing the column settings in TOOLS > PREFERENCES > click Columns tab.

Hi, that is done by design, when the number of items gets to be over 1500 or so in a list there would be performance problems calculating totals. We are working, on increasing that number to 2500 or 3500 in the near future.

I just got done doing a massive collection migration to CoinManage.
I want to start out by saying that it is a very intelligently written software. I have discovered many features that I like.
A couple of questions and a suggestion.
What is the F-16 grade. Is that suppose to be an F-15?
I thought it was usually F-12 then F-15.
Would it be possible to make the bullion value default as the value in coins that don't automatically show their value when a coin grade is selected. For example, I have a foreign coin that is F12 and I don't know the value of it but I want to leave the grade as F-12 and not select B.V. but I would like to have the bullion value display.
Also is there a way to reuse the CoinManage numbers? I have had to delete a fair amount of coins and I notice that when you add another coin it doesn't re-allocate the number. Is there a way to do it or maybe you could add that feature.

Im currently evaluating the software to determine if I shall purchase it and I came across 2 things I wanted to ask.
1. I've been slowly adding all my collection which consists of multiple copies of the same whitman books. After adding several books of Lincoln pennies I noticed I now have 4 lines of the exact same 1958-D penny. Same grade, etc. Why when adding an additional copy of the exact same coin does it not simply increase the qty field instead of creating a new record? Is there a way to automatically combine these 4 coins into 1 record with a qty of 4 or do I need to delete 3 records manually and change the 4th to a qty of 4?
2. From the want list why cant you right click and get an option to add to collection or simply drag and drop the record to a collection? I realize you wouldnt be able to add items to the record but it would be in the collection. This way I have to add every coin twice. Once in the want list then once in the collection.
3. I added a few coins to the database (US coins that were missing a few of the 2015 varieties) then when I go to add them to my collection I get "record not found". Ill get more data on that later.
I will say so far I am rather impressed with the software, especially the reporting abilities.

If I want to enter new stamps but do not know the number of catalog Scott as I do? Example in Italy general issue is not present 2008 (one stamp) and since 2010 have not included new stamps. If I wanted to, but I do not know the number Scott how can I do?

For most of the fields on the View tab, when you click on the field name like Groups or Manufacturer or Dealer you see all of the values for that field listed on the right side (where the assets are usually listed), including values which aren't associated with any assets. The listing also includes the other properties assigned to values such as Address and Website for Manufacturer or Phone numbers for Beneficiaries. I will refer to these fields as those for which the values can have additional properties.
For other fields, like Status, Purchases, Warranty Expire, Expiring Leases, Color, Year and Made Of, when you click on the field name you get an asset list on the right side of all the assets for which a value is defined for that field. These are fields for which the values do not have additional properties.
In addition, for five fields which have additional properties, namely Beneficiaries, Manufacturers, Groups, Vendors, and Vehicles, you can jump to the field/property listing from the View/Show menu.
1. I suggest that the Show menu should include almost all of the fields for which a property listing is available. This means adding Dealers and Insurers. (I say "most" since I am not sure if Queries should also be included since it is not really a field.)
2. Unlike for the fields on the View tab, there isn't a comparable function to list the properties of the Rooms and Categories via the Location and Category tabs. I suggest that
2a. the functionality to list the properties of Rooms and Categories be added, and
2b. that Rooms and Category be added to the View/Show list as well.
3. In the case of Categories, this can be done by adding Category to the top of the Category list on the Category tab, similar to how the field names Beneficiaries and Groups (and all the others) are over the values on the View tab. I would also change how the Category values list in the left and right panels on the Category tab to match how other fields which have properties list on the View tab. Specifically, on the left side only list categories which are assigned to at least one asset, and on the right side list all of the categories. (This could be user-controlled option via a checkbox labeled "Show empty categories", which might be useful to allow the user to assign an unused category to an asset by dragging it from the right panel to the category on the left panel. Likewise, the user might want to add items using images to a new category, and has to be able to select it in order to do so.)
4. I am not sure how you would list the properties of rooms, since at present selecting a Location on the left panel shows all the assets in that Location, and this is a valuable listing which you wouldn't want to replace with a property list for the rooms. Perhaps you could add Room to the View tab and use that to show the property list for the rooms.
5. For most of the fields, I would add a pseudo-value named like "*** No Status ***" or "*** No Manufacturer ***" or "*** No Category ***" to the left panel. When selected the right panel would list the assets for which the field has a Null value. This would enable the user to quickly find the assets for which a particular value isn't assigned. You already have this concept for the case when there is no location named "NO LOCATION" on the Location list. I would add "*** No Room ***" under each Location for the case where a Location is defined, but not a room. (In another topic I mentioned that a room was added to a "new" Location when I moved an asset from one Location to the new Location which didn't have any rooms, yet. I had dragged the asset to the Location name in the left panel. For this case I would have expected the asset to be moved to the "*** No Room ***" pseudo-value in the new Location.)

If you have a Year with a single quote mark in it, like "1800's", then when you select that Year on the View tab you get an error like
Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression '[Assets].[YearMade] = '1800's' AND [Assets].[LocationID] <> 3 AND ...
Similarly, you get an error if a Color has a single quote.
I did not test all of the views, but you don't get this error if a Manufacturer has a single quote in the name. I suspect that this error will occur for all of the views which don't use a database record to store the property, such as Warranty Expiration, Expiring Leases, Color, Year, and Made Of.
